November, 2007

Welcome to the month of November. With the Christmas holiday's right around the corner, it is time to make sure were are on our best behavior. Otherwise, we might wind up with a lump of coal. Well, we have lots of Modern Farang Mu Sul® news from all around the globe, let's get to it. Here are some updates:

FMS - WHQ: Birthday's are normally a very special event. But it is an entirely different affair when you hit the 90 mark. This month Justine's grandmother - affectionately called "Noni" celebrated her 90th birthday. It was a time for much celebration and appreciation. She has been the monarch of her family, and the whole Busalacchi clan was there to show their love. We had a very special family gathering, and even enjoyed some heated competition in "Bachi Ball". Lots of fun, it's all about family. Congratulations Noni, we love you.

FMS - Michigan : We got some very interesting news from Michigan lately. It turns out that Inst. Robert Hudson has re-enlisted back in the military. He had some real good opportunities offered him, and he felt it was the best for him and his family. We are very happy for him, and know he will land on his feet anywhere he goes, and will thrive. Congratulations Sir, we look forward to hearing more new from your upcoming adventures.

Students from FMS Michigan need not worry, Asst. Insts. John Hummel, Daniel Lince and Joseph Shooltz have stepped up to the plate to keep the FMS programs going. Good work gentlemen. Inst Hudson is extremely proud of you, and is very eager to see your progress in this next year. You can count on our full support here at WHQ. We are only an email or a call away from any questions or concerns you may have. Let's do this. Farang!!!

FMS Puerto Rico : The whole FMS-PR family are preparing for another awesome visit in December. We have plans for lots of training, color belt testing, open seminars, black belt testing and of course some fun too. A couple students from here in California have committed to make the trip this year. That's so exciting! I can barely wait.

Master Dennis Vega reports that several adults as well as children are in hardcore training for the 33rd BB test in December. It looks like there will be approx 5 adults and 6 children. This is awesome news, and will be another first for FMS - PR. It will mark the first time we conduct junior black belt testing there. We can't wait.

We also got some fantastic news from Inst. Francisco Delgado. After several months of hard work, he is now reaching one of his dreams which is to open a new FMS Dojang of his own. This is now a reality, with a new FMS dojang in Hatillo, which is just minutes from the main FMS-Puerto Rico HQ Dojang in Arecibo. For those that don't know, it was originally Inst. Francisco Delgado and Master Dennis Vega who were responsible for searching out FMS and bringing me and this wonderful art to Puerto Rico. It now looks like Modern Farang Mu Sul® is beginning to really spread out in the island. Well done gentlemen, and you can count on all of us for support. I look forward to more good news soon. Farang!

Also, David Rodriguez (aka: El Bohemio), has been hard at work on a couple new FMS Forums. He has launched one in Spanish and one in Portuguese. That is so awesome. This will be a great resource for all, and they all have several components each. We now have official FMS forums in English, German, and now in Spanish and Portuguese. Good job David. Keep up the good work. Check out the new forums here:

FMS - Poland : I recently got the good news from Chief Inst. Katarzyna Klepczyk that we have another FMS baby. No, she did not have another baby, but Inst. Miroslaw Guszczynski did. He is now the proud father to little baby daughter Oliwia Guszczynski. She was born on the 24th of October, with a weight 2850g, and 51cm long (aka: 61/2 lbs and 21 inches). Mom and baby are doing great. They were so happy and blessed with this their second child, and couldn't wait to take her home. With the added FMS family, she now has lots more family than most. This little bundle of joy has made her parents, grand parents and all family very happy, without lifting a finger! Amazing how that works. Congratulations!

FMS Portugal: Inst. Nelson Pinto was recently interviewed again by the local newspaper media. They did another nice piece on his work in Portugal. Congratulations Sir.

Also, he has scheduled another special FMS-CQC Tactics Seminar for Law Enforcement and Military (Tácticas de Combate Militares e Policiais FMS-CQC-Sulsa) for this month. This has been a very successful training program, that is getting more and more exposure and is consequently growing.

You are doing good work here Sir, keep it up. This is an area of the public that needs this type of training. Inst. Pinto is setting new standards for law enforcement / military combat training in Portugal. Well, they couldn't have found a better person for the job. Keep up the good work Sir. Farang!!!

FMS Germany : I got word from Asst. Inst. Daniel Derichsweiler from Germany, that they have been working very hard in training as well as renewed efforts to spread FMS in Germany. They have begun revamping the official FMS Germany website. They will still keep the FMS Köln website, so that means that there will now be two avenues for information on this wonderful art and representatives in Germany. That's not the only internet news for Germany, they also posted a couple new videos on Youtube, showing lots of training in their dojang. Looks great. Keep up the good work everyone. Other News: It is with mixed emotions that we find out that Inst. Larry Saindon has decided to retire from martial arts, including teaching. After several years of battling with lots of difficult heath issues, he thought this was a good move for him and his family. We wish him well and a speedy recovery. The FMS - HB program will now be headed by Inst. Nicole Miller and Inst. Dylan Hamilton. The So. Cal. crew are in very good hands. Farang!

Birthday News: We are happy to announce the birthdays of our FMS Black Belts from all over the world, so all of you students will know exactly when you can show your gratitude and celebrate with your teachers. FMS Black Belt Birthdays for this month:
