November, 2005

With the holiday's upon us, we begin to wind down the year with yet another month filled with lots of Modern Farang Mu Sul® activities. Here are some updates:

FMS - WHQ: Shortly after his black belt test, Inst. Wyatt Kern returned to the East coast, but it seems he left his heart in San Francisco. So, after going home and making some final decisions and last minute steps, he decided to move to San Francisco to live for awhile. That is a tremendous opportunity. He will be working, taking some classes, and of course, LOTS of FMS training here at WHQ. We are so excited to have him here and have already started to get to work. Welcome to your new home away from home Sir.

FMS Germany: Master Klaus Wachsmann recently coordinated a very ambitious seminar entitled "Modern Farang Mu Sul® - The New Generation". It featured various European FMS instructors such as Inst. Nelson Pinto from Portugal and Inst. Katarzyna Klepczyk and Inst. Andrzej Klepczyk from Poland, and from Germany there was Inst. Juergen Leusch and Inst. Michael Klockner. Despite being snowed in, they managed to have a great time.

The timing was also perfect as it coincided with the opportunity to celebrate another momentous occasion: Master Klaus Wachsmann's birthday. And what a party. Congratulations and happy, happy birthday Sir!

FMS - Hollister: Master Schleeter recently conducted color belt testing. There was a good turnout of students this time around, and a couple of black belts from WHQ made it to Hollister to join in the judges panel. I'm sure the students felt just a little more heat, but that's OK, they were up for the test and did their best. That's all we could ask for. Congratulations to all on a job well done. Farang!

FMS Portugal: Inst. Nelson Pinto had a very busy month. He not only made a trip out to Germany to take part in seminars and trainings, but also had a full schedule at home. He conducted color belt testing, participated in a multi-system seminar, had a couple demos, and still had time to conduct a couple of seminars of his own. Wow, where do you get all that energy? Trust me, I know how you feel. That is so awesome Sir. All of your hard work will begin to show results, just when you least expect it, so keep on doing your thing. We are with you all the way.

FMS - Michigan: Inst. Robert Hudson also recently conducted color belt testing at a couple of his clubs. His groups keep growing and now are advancing in this art, little by little. We are very proud of you all. Congratulations and keep up the great work.

FMS - Mt. Shasta : Asst. Inst. Jeff Winters had another successful Mt. Shasta International Film Festival. Once again, he had an amazing assortment of films from all over the world. Inst. John Stenson drove up north to join him and they had a great time. This year's film festival was a much larger affair than last year. Everyone is waiting with anticipation for next year's festival.

After months and months of soo much hard work on the film festival, Jeff and his wife Danielle went on a much needed and well deserved vacation. They went to Zihuatanejo, Mexico for some sun and relaxation. They also stopped in Santa Fe, New Mexico for a short stay, and Jeff was inspired to start writing his next novel. Keep those creative juices flowing Sir. I can't wait to see the progress on this book.

FMS - New York: After the Ring of Combat 9 we all had to relax a bit and catch our breath. Not too long though, because we had a couple of seminars scheduled next. The topics were on FMS Knife Fighting, and FMS-TVT - NHB special training. To make a good time even better, we were very fortunate to have a visit from Guru Tuhan Roberto Torres. What a treat.

Other News: We received some fantastic news from our good friends in Arizona: Inst. Sean Arteaga just had a baby boy. Congratulations!!! Welcome to the world of little to no sleep. But it is always worth it.

Birthday News: We are happy to announce the birthdays of our FMS Black Belts from all over the world, so all of you students will know exactly when you can show your gratitude and celebrate with your teachers. FMS Black Belt Birthdays for this month:
Inst. Cassie Van Doren Nov - 10th, Inst. Wyatt Kern Nov - 16th, Chief Inst. Katarzyna Klepczyk Nov -17th, Master Klaus Wachsmann Nov - 24th, and Inst. Patrick Brenan Nov -25th. Remember, you are an inspiration to so many, and this is your special day!

Next month of December will be: Inst. Ken Gibson Dec - 2nd and Inst. Stuart McCalla Dec -17th.
